|
Carlos Victor Boungou became ambassador of Gabon to the United States in Jan. 14, 2008.
Ambassador Boungou previously served as the ambassador to Spain from 2004 to 2007 and to Libya from 2002 to 2004. In addition, Ambassador Boungou served as the chargé d’affaires at the Gabonese Embassy in London (2000-02), following a term as first counselor at the embassy in France (1997-2000). He has also served as technical advisor in charge of cultural matters for the senior minister at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Cooperation in Gabon (1995-97), head of the Translation and Integration Unit at the ministry (1991-95), and foreign affairs counselor (1988-91).
Ambassador Boungou earned both his bachelor’s degree in international relations and his master’s degree in international and political relations from the Schiller International University in London, then completed a post-graduate degree in diplomacy from the Polytehnic of Central London.
Ambassador Boungou speaks French, English and Spanish, and is married with five children. |
